Food in Bloom attended the always impressive, and way-too-much fun Oregon Bride Magazine Awards on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Oregon Golf Club. This industry event is an annual affair that celebrates all of us in the wedding industry. Wedding rings, DJs, event rentals, planners, hotels, caterers and many more from the Portland Metro area and across the state joined forces in a vintage carnival themed reception for mingling, merriment and most importantly, to see who would be victorious during the awards presentation.
As guests arrived to the large tented gala, we were greeted by aerial acrobats and bombastic Gatsby-esque French tunes, complete with the polished serving staff offering playful spiked rum and Coca-Colas in glass bottles. The vibe indoors coyly continued the vintage carnival theme, captured wonderfully by Mosca Studios Photography. Cotton candy, corn dogs, pretzels, and lots and lots of cupcakes with quirky garnishes were on full display. Anything with fried Snickers or a mini elephant ear on top is a winner!
Speaking of winners, I am proud to announce that 2014 was the very first year Food in Bloom was honored with a nomination from Oregon Bride Magazine for Best Caterer, and even better yet, we won! Our small and focused team of planners, alongside the marketing manager, general manager, and our owner were in attendance to receive the award. Needless to say, we were really excited and very proud!
